Simple Twisted Ring Tutorial/ Copper Wire Wrapped Ring/ DIY in 5 steps/ Beginner Level
💍 Make your own ring at home in just 5 steps!
💡 A very fast and easy project to create an inexpensive wire ring,
💰 You can quickly make a ton of these from bits of wire left over from other projects.
🌺 For 7.5 (us) ring size you will need approximatively:
30 cm (12 inch) x 0,8 mm (20g) copper round wire
8cm (3 inch) x 0,4 mm (26g) copper round wire
0,3 mm faceted gemstone bead (you can chose a bigger one if you prefer it)
1. Twist the wires
Take the 0,8 (20g) round wire and roughly fold in half into a fish shape.
Twist the ‘tail’ and bend the wire ends outwards.
Begin to twist the body of the fish whilst holding the tail.
Continue to twist until until you have a long wire with a little bobble at the end.
2. Hammer Flat
Give your wire wrap rings a hammered texture.
3. Trim and File
Cut the excess of the wire and o file the ends flat
(for 7.5 size you will need aprox 8cm wire/3.5”)
4. Size
Wrap the wire around the ring mandrel so the ends cross.
5. Add the stone
Take the 0,4 mm (26g) wire and wrap the gemstone
Oxidize or patina the finished ring. (optional)
