“Thunderstorm asthma” occurs when heavy winds and other conditions whip up and concentrate pollens and molds. This phenomenon can aggravate asthma symptoms. Pulmonologist Laurie Manka, MD, explains more factors behind thunderstorm asthma while working to treat a patient’s symptoms at National Jewish Health.
