Walking Île de la Cité (Paris Island) UHD 4K | Notre-Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, Pont Neuf | Oct 2022
Join us on a Autumn walk through the streets of central Paris, France. Today we are exploring the Île de la Cité, an island in the river Seine, right in the very centre of Paris.
In its history the island has been a Roman fortress, a palace for Kings of France and in the 12th century, it became an important religious centre. It is the home of Paris' Notre-Dame cathedral, and the royal chapel of Sainte-Chapelle. It is also has the city's oldest surviving bridge, the Pont Neuf.
Today, it is the home of the Prefecture de Police, the Palais de Justice, and the Tribunal de commerce de Paris. The famous landmark Notre-Dame de Paris, was badly damaged by a fire in 2019 and is closed, but it is expected to reopen in time for the Paris Olympics in 2024.
We start this walk near Notre-Dame at Pont au Double bridge on the south east of the island and work our way north east to the Pout Neuf bridge, passing Sainte-Chapelle and the Palais de Justice.
Relax and join us as we explore all the sights and sounds of Paris in 4k Ultra HD.
