Yeh but rely on school to teach you critical thinking, problem solving, the ability to interpret, retain and apply complex information and in general all the soft skills that you'll need to be a contributing and successful member of society. Oh and by the way you gain all those skills by actually learning mathematical theories, history, economics etc yeh not everyone is going to go on to be a Mathmetician or Historian but the underlying skills you gain at that age are what's important.

You still need school for basic and advanced math comprehension skills to get people who can do compound equations
